Hello fanwarriors (my new name for you).
So, I was going to do a post where I catch you up on my life. In case you haven't noticed, I didn't. Okay, I start school in five days (I'm already panicking), and Doctor Who series 8 comes out August 23. These are two very important days. Additionally, I finished season 8 of SPN, and I NEED TO WATCH SEASON 9! I also got a bunch of awesome shirts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
Now for the review.
**~SPOILER ALERT~**
Title: Paper Towns
Author: John Green
Rating: 4 1/2 stars
Rated: 12+ (this doesn't apply to everyone)
Major Character Deaths: 0 (I know.)
Please Note: If you don't like a story that involves a lot of looking and a little of finding + a LOT of angst, don't read this.
Enter Quentin, a high-schooler who doesn't fit in. He hangs out with his friend Ben and Radar, scrapes up okay grades, plays video games (Resurrection), and lives an overall boring life. Before that happened, though, he was friends with the messed up, intriguing, gorgeous Margo. They were nine when they found the dead body, and then... separated. Just like that. Of course, Q could never forget Margo, but he more or less observed from a distance.
Then one night, Margo appears back in his room, covered in black paint, and convinces him to come with her on a journey he would never forget. The next day, she isn't at school-- which isn't uncommon. She was one of those people who ditches school to travel America (without parental knowledge), and hook up with famous band members. But then she's not back for a few days. She always comes back after a few days.
Soon, Q finds that she left him hints-- clues in the form of poetry (Whitman) -- to help him find her, and he whisks off to find the girl he was in love with.
So, I was walking down the book isle in Costco, when I stumbled upon this book. I had formerly been reading a sample on my Kindle, and I liked the writing technique (John Green writes wonderfully, and I was absorbed from the minute I read the first page). Naturally, I picked it up, along with FOUR (Divergent spin-off from Four's POV) and convinced my mom to buy it for me. It wasn't to difficult.
This book was overall, spectacular. John Green has these beautiful writing skills, and they never fail to amaze me. Paper Towns was very metaphorical (no, that was NOT a TFIOS reference). I mean one quote that Margo said was, "A paper town, for a paper girl." How much more does it get than that?
The thing that surprised me most was that no major character died. Q lived, Ben lived, Radar lived, and even Margo lived (although they thought she was dead pretty much the entire book). That made it different than The Fault in Our Stars (Augustus) and Looking for Alaska (Alaska).
And that's a wrap.
Also, can you check out these blogs for me: The Vortex of Deduction, Emily Ecrivaine Reviews, How to Make Dusty Tea, and Fangirl Kiki's Blog (No, it's not mine, but we do have the same name). THANKS :)

PS: I promise to post something under Lists and another under Ships/ OTPs soon :) I know I haven't posted there in a while.
PPS: Do any of you want to guest write something on my blog? If so, please email me, or leave a comment with your email and what you would like to post. This way, we can talk it out and edit/ beta it.
