Sorry this is so late, but school starts in less than a week so I've been super busy with my life. Yes, I have a life.
Okay I decided it was time for a necessary review on an amazing book called Proxy. It's an incredible YA book that you probably have never heard of before.
**Spoiler-free**
Title: Proxy
Author: Alex London
Rated: 14+
Rating: 4.5/5
Summary in the book: Knox was born into one of the City’s wealthiest families. A Patron, he has everything a boy could possibly want—the latest tech, the coolest clothes, and a Proxy to take all his punishments. When Knox breaks a vase, Syd is beaten. When Knox plays a practical joke, Syd is forced to haul rocks. And when Knox crashes a car, killing one of his friends, Syd is branded and sentenced to death.
Syd is a Proxy. His life is not his own.
Then again, neither is Knox’s. Knox and Syd have more in common than either would guess. So when Knox and Syd realize that the only way to beat the system is to save each other, they flee. Yet Knox’s father is no ordinary Patron, and Syd is no ordinary Proxy. The ensuing cross-country chase will uncover a secret society of rebels, test both boys’ resolve, and shine a blinding light onto a world of those who owe and those who pay. Some debts, it turns out, cannot be repaid.
My Review:
Aw man, this book was great. An amazingly written adventure, that just can't be described.
Aside from that, what isn't there to love in this book? You have a POC main character, very minimal romance, a badass female character who isn't a love interest, and it's dystopian fiction. I hope you can see how great it is just off the bat.
It's quite refreshing and different from the Hunger Games and Divergent. It is dystopian, but it's definitely a different type of story than the popular YA dystopian novels.
So, what are you doing? GET TO IT AND READ!

PS: Short review, I know. But I'm sick and busy
